![]() The fun this game is giving, is beating it and getting better at beating it at higher difficulties. You cant implement such deep unit metagame in a game like this one. Units have different strengths and weaknesses and get used in different situations when they are useful. You watch your opponent and adapt to his playstyle while he is adapting to yours. ![]() Games like Starcraft or Age of Empires only have so many unit types and tactics because you fight a thinking player, that will behave differently every time. ![]() Vs AI RTS games always have their fun in optimizing your build, studying the AI and testing new funny moves. Or even more simpler you find some exploits where the AI outplays themselves. Occasionally they will get overwhelmed, but are fast enough to put some distance in between them and the enemy and recover. They reach veteran status quite quickly (it feels like) and a group of 25 or so will clear the map with relative ease. Either you out-economy them or you find the perfect unit composition that crushes them every time. Soldiers are excellent units at holding a point, and a ball of them is extremely deadly. In my time I played RTS before having internet access (can believe there were times without internet), I learned that playing any RTS against AI sooner or later it ends in always rushing the same tactic, because most AIs dont adapt. ![]()
